Wale ft. Lloyd - Sabotage

This song has an Ambition like feel to it. It is classical Wale doing a love song, and doing a very good job at it. Llyod does the hook, and all together it's a pretty good song.

First time I've ever listened to him was today. This isn't a bad mixtape. Lyrically it is on point and with better production I think that Nessly has a lot of potential. He is a new artist so give a listen, and give some feedback. You can download and listen to his mixtape "Lucid Dreaming Three" at the link below.

Yonas - Midnight City

Not to be bias but Yonas is one of my favorite artists.  He is bound to blow up and I can't wait for that day.  This track called "Midnight City" is a great example of his talent. I would listen to this and if you like him, look up his other stuff you won't be disappointed.

Emilo Rojas - Breaking Point

"Breaking Point" from upcoming rapper Emilo Rojas dropped earlier this week. It's a mixtape that has a few songs that have dropped a while ago, but a lot of new ones also. You may or may not have heard of him, but if you are a fan of hip hop, which I assume you are because you're on this blog, or maybe you are still looking for pandas, but anyways you may like his style. I didn't enjoy this mixtape as much as his previous one (Life without Shame) but he is talented and I believe is making a come up. Overall this mixtape is worth a couple song downloads, but I would look out for this guy in the future.

Albert Pujols - Wale ft. Rick Ross, Fabolous

Presumably a song that got left off of his recent album Ambition, Wale dropped Albert Pujols today.

Recent Mixtape Report

Donnis’ Snack Pack Volume 1 and 2, both released in the past few weeks, are part of a series of weekly mixtapes Donnis is releasing, presumably to hype his upcoming album “Southernfuturisticferarrithumpmuzik” also known as “Why in God’s Name Would Anyone Name a Mixtape Anything This Long?” All the mini mixtapes contain two songs. The four that have been released so far are pretty average lyrically by Donnis standards, but all four have some pretty great beats on them. Benjamin Franklin, the best song of the four beat wise and the only one I would recommend for downloading if you’re not a big Donnis fan, contains features from Jay Ant and IAMSU.  Although all four of these songs are pretty mediocre in my opinion, I’m still excited for his upcoming album and think it’s potentially going to be one of the better albums in 2012.

Chuck Inglish, member of The Cool Kids and producer, recently produced his first solo project entitled “WRKING”. It’s a tape of beats, and I had two major struggles with this album.
1)      I had trouble finding my least favorite beat.
2)      I had trouble deciding which one was my favorite.
Seriously, this tape is pretty amazing, but expected no less from a producer with as much talent as Chuck. If you like beats, or enjoy background music while you relax, or have a pulse, I would advise that you download this and put it on repeat.

“Tell Ya Friends” from Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper dropped a few days ago. It’s a mixtape that is very feature heavy, including CyHi Da Prince, Kid Cudi, Wale, Bun B, Krayzie Bone, and The Far East Movement. To me, this is Chip’s best work so far. It’s a 23 song tape that has a lot of good songs. Unfortunately, it suffers in a way that a lot of Chip’s songs do in that a lot of them sound extremely similar. His wordplay and flow is good in almost all of them, but so many of the songs are interchangeable and sound so similar that it’s almost boring to listen to the whole way through. Although a lot of the songs are similar, 25 Wives featuring Wale and Ride 4 You featuring Kid Cudi and The Far East movement are probably two of the best songs I have heard come out in 2012 in my opinion. If you’re going to download this tape, be warned that some songs will be good, and some you might have to delete.

Kid Cudi drops two songs from WZRD

Kid Cudi dropped two songs today, “Teleport 2 Me, Jamie” and “Brake” off his upcoming album “WZRD”, releasing on February 28th. As expected from his announcement of this album being a whole new genre and snippets of songs that have been releasing periodically through twitter, these songs are very different from anything Cudi has previously released. These songs have a very psychedelic feel, almost reminiscent of a hiphop Pink Floyd. If Kid Cudi would have been making music in the Pink Floyd era, I would assume this album could be called Dark Side of the Moon 2.

Teleport 2 Me, Jamie is most like his older stuff out of the two songs, while still being very different. Cudi is more vocal in this song, as opposed to Brake which features more of his Kid Cudi sing-humming, and topping it off with a minute and a half long 50% music solo, 50% trippy music demonstration.

All in all, I would say they are pretty good, but I’m not sure they’re for everyone. I would check them out for yourself (they're both on youtube in their entirety....shhhhh!) before I bought them on iTunes where they are currently available. Normally, we would post a link to a download right here, but since these are off a feature album they’re not being put out for free online so if you like them, stop being cheap, spend 99 cents and buy them.

Where am I?

You might be wondering, why am I on this blog? Where are the pandas? I am a massive, unrelenting nerd and was hoping this was a blog about zoology.

Sadly, if that’s the case, I may have to ask you to leave. This is a blog created by a couple guys who love new age hip hop music, for other people who love new age hip hop music. So instead of finding out about pandas in their natural habitat, their diet, and what’s going to happen when they’re all extinct, you can come here to find out about the latest songs, mixtapes, and albums being dropped and what’s happening in the hip hop community.

Our goal on this blog is to update you with new songs and information daily, and let you know what’s coming up in the near future. On top of that, we want to have fun and for you guys to have fun reading this. Who knows? Maybe this blog will blow up and become famous, and if you start following closely now, you can be that hipster that says you followed us before everyone else started to. So if you’re ready to be entertained with cool music and awesome, enticing writing style, then sit tight and keep hitting refresh for our next posts. If not…get out.
